The short version
jam1e chess has no accounts and no sign-up. The chess engine runs in your own browser, so the positions and games you analyse are not sent to us. The site is free because it shows adverts from Google AdSense, and Google may use cookies to show and measure those adverts.
Data stored on your device
Your settings (light or dark theme, board style and similar preferences) are saved in your browser's local storage so they are remembered next time. This data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
Third-party services
To make the tools work, your browser may contact these services directly:
- Lichess (lichess.org) for cloud evaluations, endgame tablebases and opening names. Only the position (FEN) being looked up is sent.
- Google Fonts for the typefaces used on the site.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and provides privacy-friendly, cookie-free visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show adverts. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
