Questions

Which images work best?

Flat 2D boards from sites and apps such as Lichess, Chess.com or book diagrams, cropped close to the board.

Does it work with photos of a real board?

Not well yet. Photos and 3D sets confuse the scanner, so set those positions up with the editor instead.

How do I get the FEN?

After scanning, the FEN appears in the editor. Press Done, then Copy FEN.

Is it free?

Yes, with no account and no limits.
